    Don't worry, Be happy!!

Dang!!! Well I had this nice little paragraph typed then i lost it. I know it has been a really long time since my last post, but i am just not into sitting down and typing out my thoughts on a daily basis. (or aparently i can only do it on a yearly basis) Which is kin of a hypocritical attitude because i check this EVERY day and get dissappointed cause you guys are not posting anything. For a lot of you this is the only way i know what's going on in your lives because i never see you, so i really enjoy reading how ya'll are doing. It makes me happy to know that i have friends all over the world that are doing well. That's something that has been on my mind lately. Being happy. I love people and i love being around people but the truth is not all people make us happy. (like the officer that i encountered driving a few weeks ago) But i have determined latetly that i am going to do everything i can to be happy. I know, i know there is a diffference between joy and happiness. Trust me, I have preached that sermon. I just don't want to go through my life not enjoying everyday of it. I want to make everyday count cause i don't know if i will get another one. Telling the people i care about (like you reading this) how happy i am that they are in my life. Does that mean i live the Mary Poppins lifestyle and dance and sing all day long? No that is unrealistic and honestly just plain retarded. But i am going to do my best, to do my best with what God has given me. (yes i meant to type that twice) So what makes you happy? Then do it. This is just where i am right now. I am just being honest. Don't like it? DON"T READ IT!!! I would like your response though. What makes you happy?????

Hey everyone! Man it has been foeever since i updated. I guess i got lazy again. It's easy to read everyone else's stuff and never type anything new. We had a great summer! Missions trip to Hollywood was amazing. Halloween outreach was really good this year as well. We had a record crowd come through. I was the MC of the event so that was fun. This year my parents and Jess's sister came up for thanksgiving. It was the first year for Jess to cook the meal for everyone and the first family holiday at our house. She was so excited. She did such a great job.  We are getting ready for Christmas and that always promises to be hectic. With my family in Bama and hers in Texas it gets real crazy. Kaden is growing like a weed and starting to talk a little. He is so much fun. Anyway, that's about all for now. Here are some recent pics. The last one is a little blurry. It was at our halloween outreach. We did pirates and Kaden was a monkey.

  • Traffic

Today there was a huge wreck on the interstate that had traffic blocked for miles in both directions. Our baby sitter (Deeds) called to let us know not try to go out that way and to let us know she would be late. There is a non-interstate way for us to go to work, so when Jess left she obviously went that way. Well as i was making my lunch i got another call, this one from Jess, saying that the alternate route was also extremely packed. Great! So I knew that there was one more way that i could get to work. It was a little out of the way and would take a litle longer but i decided to go that direction. While i was driving down these winding roads, for some reason i just noticed how beautiful this way was. There was really no traffic so i was able to just take it all in. I came up on this stop sign, and as i looked across the road there were some goats in a pen.(please hold the redneck jokes) As i was driving by the goat stopped, squatted down like a girl dog, and peed! I was amazed. I realized that I had never seen a goat pee! (I'll give you a second to stop laughing then get to my point.)

Ok, here it is. Bear with me there is a lot pouring out of me right now. When i got to work i just started to pray and what you are reading is what came out. There were literally hundreds of people that were affected by this traffic problem. Most of which were just looking to see what was going on. They were not involved in the accident, but they just had to slow down and look. Which caused an even bigger problem. I heard that there were news teams and everything. It was ridiculous! But it got me to thinking. Ever heard the expression "If someone is on fire people will come watch him burn"? That's what this made me think of today. All these people, who were not involved were affected by this wreck. That is exactly what happens in our lives sometimes. We go through something bad and people will gather around just to watch. And in turn it will cause even more problems. But on the flip side of that, if we are on fire for God then it will also attract attention and cause people to slow down and look at our lives. Now on to some more. I also thought as i was driving down that winding road about the expresssion i have heard about the Christian's path. The "road less traveled". As i said before, there was really no traffic on this road so i was able to take my time and just enjoy God's beauty. Which if we were real honest with ourselves very few of us slow down our lives to just admire God in even the little things. Then we get to the peeing goat. As i said before, i had never seen this. Sometimes God wants to get us off our normal daily paths to show us something different, reveal something we have never seen. I could have very easily chosen to go either of the other 2 ways and be like everyone else, but i chose not only listen to the warnings i had gotten but to go another way. We can't just hear the warnings, we have to obey.

One more thing about this drive that was really amazing was the neighborhood i had to drive through. It is a reeeaaaly nice neighborhood. The houses are huge! With pools and tons of bedrooms and beautiful stone work and you get the point. But anyway God just spoke "this is what i am preparing for you". And it hit me, the bible says Jesus said to His disciples "i am going to prepare a place for you, but i will return for you one day". Now i now that these houses seemed huge and extravagant to me, but i can't wait so see the mansion that Jesus is building for me in heaven! All because i choose to take the road less travelled. There is so much that God has revealled to me this morning and i try to put it all down but there is just too much.

Just think, are we like everyone else just stuck in traffic spiritually. God is calling us to take the roads less traveled so He can show us something that we have never seen, and also to remind us of the promise and the rewards ahead.

  • Hello all! sorry it has been so long since my last post.  Life has been pretty hectic around here lately. I will post more later, but i did jsut want to write something to make me feel like i'm still involved here. It's really easy to just read posts and never write any. I'll try to improve. Till next time... Peace and chicken grease!! (that was for you Frank)
